CEBU CITY — The University of Southern Philippines Foundation Panthers erased an early deficit and held off the University of Cebu Lapu-Lapu and Mandaue Webmasters, 81–76, in CESAFI collegiate basketball action Saturday at the Cebu Coliseum.
UCLM came out strong and took a 23–14 lead after the opening quarter. USPF answered in the second period, outscoring the Webmasters 27–23 to cut the deficit to five at halftime, 46–41.
The Panthers continued their comeback after the break. USPF won the third quarter 19–13, moving ahead 60–59 entering the final period. The Panthers then closed the game with a 21–17 fourth quarter to complete the turnaround.
Peter John Peteros led USPF with a game-high 22 points, along with four rebounds and two steals. He did most of his damage inside, converting 10 of his 16 two-point attempts.
Lloyd Amadeo Gutang provided another strong performance with 17 points and six rebounds, while shooting 6-of-8 from the free-throw line.
Lybron James Lamo added 13 points, two rebounds, two assists, and two steals, while Glenn Armand Contado finished with 11 points and four rebounds.

For UCLM, Kyle Vincent Dela Torre led the Webmasters with 15 points and six rebounds, while Dan Mitchell Ferraren contributed 14 points, four assists, and two steals. Cyrus Andrei Ubayubay and Marty Louisse Sotto chipped in 12 points apiece.
The game featured six lead changes and four ties, with UCLM building the largest lead of the contest at 11 points. USPF, however, stayed within reach and eventually took control late to secure the five-point win.
