USJ-R Jaguar Cubs Overpower DBTC Grey Wolves, 76–45, in CESAFI High School Action

CEBU CITY — The University of San Jose-Recoletos Jaguar Cubs turned a close opening period into a commanding victory, defeating the Don Bosco Technical College Grey Wolves, 76–45, in CESAFI high school basketball action Sunday at the Cebu Coliseum.
 

USJ-R held an 11–5 lead after the first quarter before completely taking control in the second period. The Jaguar Cubs erupted for 30 points while limiting DBTC to just three, building a huge 41–8 halftime advantage. They stayed in command through the third quarter before the Grey Wolves closed the game with a stronger 24-point fourth period. 

The Jaguar Cubs received balanced production across the lineup. John Gregory Caresosa and Pipa Lee Dean Cababahay each scored 13 points, with Caresosa also collecting six rebounds, two assists, and two steals. Cababahay shot an efficient 6-of-9 from the field, including a perfect 5-of-5 on two-point attempts. 

James Precious Ponce added 12 points, five rebounds, and four steals, while Japhet Sedrome contributed seven points, seven rebounds, and two steals. Sedrome finished with a team-high 16 efficiency rating.  

For DBTC, Cristian Tabio Lambayan and Zane Oddyssie Ondoy led the Grey Wolves with 11 points apiece. Zhen Francis Ancheta added seven points, three rebounds, three assists, and seven steals. 

USJ-R controlled the glass with a 53–31 rebounding advantage and shot 41.7 percent from the field, compared with DBTC’s 24.1 percent. The Jaguar Cubs led for more than 38 minutes and pushed their biggest advantage to 42 points during the contest.
