USC Warriors Outlast UV Green Lancers, 81–68, in CESAFI Collegiate Action

CEBU CITY — The University of San Carlos Warriors pulled away from the University of the Visayas Green Lancers for an 81–68 victory in CESAFI collegiate basketball action Sunday at the Cebu Coliseum. 

The game was tightly contested early, with USC holding a slim 20–19 lead after the first quarter. The Warriors created separation in the second period, outscoring UV 20–15 to take a 40–34 halftime advantage, then extended the gap further with a 22–16 third quarter. 

Jhoernel Vince Martinez Tangkay delivered a standout all-around performance for USC, finishing with 18 points, 11 rebounds, and nine steals while shooting 8-of-13 from the field. He also posted a game-high 33 efficiency rating. 

Real Einer Aquino Aureo added 15 points, three rebounds, and three assists on an efficient 6-of-7 shooting, while James Paolo Bojos Gica contributed 13 points. Jose Marie Tumabang chipped in 12 points and four rebounds off the bench. 

For UV, Albert John Sacayan led the Green Lancers with 17 points, including three three-pointers. Kent Ivo Salarda recorded a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds, while John Nethan Dela Torre added seven points and four rebounds. 

USC controlled the rebounding battle, 40–36, and generated 19 steals as a team. The Warriors led for 35 minutes and 43 seconds, with their largest advantage reaching 16 points. The game featured nine lead changes and five ties before USC eventually took control.
