CEBU CITY — The Cebu Eastern College Blue Dragons opened up a commanding early advantage and weathered a late rally from the Sacred Heart School – Ateneo de Cebu Baby Warriors to secure a 75–64 victory in CESAFI high school basketball action Sunday at the Cebu Coliseum.
CEC immediately set the tone with a dominant opening quarter, outscoring SCSC 24–5. The Blue Dragons continued to control the game in the second and third periods, taking a 62–39 advantage into the final quarter. SCSC responded strongly in the fourth, winning the period 25–13, but the early deficit proved too much to overcome.
Cedric Dela Rosa led the Blue Dragons with an impressive all-around performance, finishing with 22 points, 11 rebounds, six assists, six steals, and two blocks. He also registered a game-high 24 efficiency rating.
King Rosello Navarro added 10 points, four rebounds, four assists, and three steals, while Albert Sialana contributed eight points, 11 rebounds, two assists, and three blocks. Gillan Niño Llanos also finished with 10 points and seven assists for CEC.
For the Baby Warriors, Lance Luther Aballe paced the offense with 16 points, 10 rebounds, five assists, and eight turnovers. Heath Lauren Macapil contributed 13 points and 11 rebounds, while Keen Kangleon recorded nine points and a game-high 12 rebounds.
CEC controlled the boards with a 55–40 rebounding advantage and held the lead for 38 minutes and 22 seconds. The Blue Dragons' biggest advantage reached 26 points, while SCSC's largest lead was only two.
